During your first lesson I will demonstrate and then guide you through the steps of creating something on the wheel. My hope is that you will return for future lessons. The wheel is something that takes time and practice to master. Since I started teaching ceramics at Bakersfield High School I have learned that some students pick up the skill quicker than others, but eventually everyone can learn to create somehting on the wheel.

Please, request a date at least one to two weeks in advance. Some dates may already be booked.
Cost: $40/hour 1.5 hour minimum per session
If 2-3 people share in a session, they can split the cost.
A session of 1.5 to 2 hours recommended.
You will also need to purchase the clay you use from The Ceramic Shop. The cost is 60 cents per pound of clay plus tax. You will use 4-6 pounds of clay. If you would like to have your work fired and then glazed, the cost can be discussed with the owner of The Ceramic Shop, Merrilyn.
Comfortable clothing is recommended.
